Greek Spotlight: Meet Casey Busher

At Campus Live, we love to know what’s going on in the Greek community.

One of the many exciting adventures in Raiderland includes the vibrant Greek community you’ll experience on campus. In this month’s Greek Spotlight, we sat down with Casey Busher, of Delta Gamma, to find out a little more about her experience.

Check out our Q&A below!

Q: Name, Major, Hometown?
A: Casey Buscher, Electronic Media & Communications, Euless Texas

Q: What made you choose to attend Texas Tech?
A: I  actually didn’t want to come here at all, but was kind of forced to. It turned out to be a positive experience for me because of the people I met and my involvement on campus. Texas Tech has so many great opportunities.

Q: What Greek chapter do you belong to here at Texas Tech?
A: Delta Gamma – Gamma XI – Senior Graduating in May 2018

Q: What is your involvement in your sorority? A: Freshman year – Director of Intramurals. Sophomore – Director of Philanthropy. Junior – Director of Social Media (made videos and such). Senior – Professional status due to my internship with TTU Athletics

Q: What philanthropy is your sorority involved in?
A: Service for Sight – I Coordinated the first ever Anchor Bowl ( ag football), and hosted Anchor Slam (basketball). We raised $20,000+ the year I was philanthropy chair. It was really cool to work hard to raise money for our philanthropy.

Q: What’s your favorite Texas Tech memory so far?
A: College GameDay for the Tech vs. KU game. It put Tech Basketball on the map, and I got to meet my all-time idol, Maria Taylor. It’s my dream to work for College GameDay one day.

Q: What are your favorite things to do around Lubbock?
A: Play basketball, go to coffee shops around town, go to the park, and exploring around Lubbock!

Q: Tell us why you chose this Delta Gama?
A: I did spring rush so it was between two sororities. I felt very comfortable, welcomed, and accepted at DG. It felt like a family before I was even a member.

Q: What’s unique about you?
A: I was a competitive jump roper for 10 years and traveled competing at the national level. I won 3rd place in double dutch. Keke Palmer’s stunt double was my friend from my team.
