Texas Tech is finally about to begin the new school year on the 24th. TTU will be hosting many events for students as a part of Raider Welcome, with safety being a top priority of course. However, if you’re an alumni wanting to stay involved with the university you have other options. The Texas Tech Alumni Association & Student Alumni association have a variety of events planned. Campus Live also has events planned for some of the same dates, so make sure to check our social media for updates. With that, here are some of the events that the Alumni Association has planned.

On August 20th tHe Alumni Association is hosting a virtual trivia game for the first 100 students

Texas Tech Homecoming

The first event planned is on the 3rd of October and that is the Texas Tech Football Homecoming. For TTU’s 2020 homecoming game, they will be taking on West Virginia so it’s already a big game by itself. With that, the Alumni Association will be inviting members to come back and cheer on the Red Raiders when they take on West Virginia. While the time for the game has yet to be announced, be sure to stay updated with the TTAA website to know when the festivities begin.

Campus Live will definitely have a huge (safe) event for the same game. Like any other Campus Live event there will be drinks, food, fun, and the Corona Premier Sports Show. The details are still being worked out so be on the lookout for those, and be sure to swing by our setup as well!

Houston TTAA

The second event is more of an abroad activity for a specific chapter of the TTAA. On October 10th, the TTAA will host one of two golf tournaments for the month, but the first will be hosted for the Houston Chapter at Hermann Park. The registration fee is $100 to participate, but if you’re a big golf fan and want to see a new city, then this event will be worth it. More details will be available soon, so just keep an eye on the Alumni website.

Texas Tech Annual Alumni Association Cup

The third event is another golf tournament on the 23rd of October. This time around it’s the TTAAs annual Alumni cup at the Rawls golf course. It will also be the morning before the TTU vs UT game so be sure to get there early before kickoff. There are also different prices for registration but each price includes green fees, cart, range balls, breakfast, lunch, post-tournament reception, a drink ticket and a goodie bag. If you didn’t wish to travel for the first tournament, this one will be a perfect chance to break out the golf clubs. If you need more details, be sure to check the TTAA website.

While August will be full of activities for Raider welcome, October will be full of fun activities as well. The main thing however is to stay safe when at these events. Do that and then you’re sure to be able to enjoy yourself fully.
