It’s Time to Play Intramural Sports at Texas Tech

What are you doing this semester? Intramural Sports at Texas Tech might be something to think about to enjoy your Texas Tech experience! Maybe it’s time to get involved with the community, meet some new people, and have a good time while getting in shape. Intramural Sports is your answer! From flag football to ultimate frisbee, there are plenty of opportunities for students that want to be active. Texas Tech offers an excellent way for students to enjoy themselves during their free time.

On top of this, you can be a part of Tech Intramural Sports as a player or an official! Taking on the responsibility of being a referee can provide an excellent foundation for other leadership roles later in life. So whether you’re looking for an opportunity for student employment or want to try something different on your own, TTU Intramurals has it all. Take advantage of these awesome activities today!

Cost to Play Intramural Sports

First up, let’s talk about cost. You/your team will need to fork over a one-time “Forfeit Fee” to play intramurals. The pricing can range from $25 to $50, depending on which sport you decide on. Classic Sports such as Flag Football and Basketball will require a $50 fee. On the other hand, Modern Sports like Indoor Soccer and Sand Volleyball will have a $25 fee. Don’t worry, though, because, at the end of the semester (as long as your team has abided by the rules and not forfeited any games), you’ll receive your Forfeit Deposit Fee credited back to your University Account. So follow the rules, show up, and have fun!

Now, let’s go over some upcoming sign-up dates for this fall/winter season. The great thing about Tech Intramurals is the sheer amount of flexibility you have and the endless options available to fit your busy schedule. For example, registration for the “Flash: Archery” held on Sunday, November 14th, is open until 11/13. This still gives many players an ample amount of time to make plans and sign up. The tournament is a one-day event that will surely be a fun one.

If you’re searching for something a bit more traditional, look no further than the Indoor Soccer League. This group’s season runs from October 21st to November 16th and has options ranging from Co-Ed, Open, and Women’s Leagues. While registration is on a waitlist right now, you can still join teams at any time.

You can find the complete list of sports and registration dates here.
