With the biggest firework holiday approaching, we’re giving you a guide to Lubbock fireworks! There is something so mesmerizing and nostalgic about fireworks that takes you back to your childhood days and all the great memories that remain with you to this day. The anticipation of seeing those colorful explosions while in the company of your loved ones is like no other.

Independence Day is one of the biggest days for fireworks sales and events during the summer. To prepare you for 2021, we are giving you a head start by providing you with the best events in Lubbock, Texas this year.

With the holiday just around the corner it is best to stay in the loop and figure out what event may or may not work best for you!

Lubbock Fourth on Broadway

An important event that formed a huge part of American history, Independence day, or more commonly known by many American’s as The Fourth of July is by far one of the most awaited holidays of the 2021 summer season.

The City of Lubbock and Broadway Festivals inc. is committed to making their community members feel right at home by hosting the Lubbock Fourth on Broadway festival. This festival will take place at MacKenzie Park on July 4th from 9 a.m. to 12 midnight.

At the festival, there will be a wide variety of food vendors, a parade, an area for kids, games, arts and crafts, and of course fireworks. There will also be nine stages where national, regional, and local bands and musicians will be performing. The best part of all is that there will be no entrance fee to the festival so everyone will be able to attend.

Day Time Picnic in the Park

If you simply cannot wait until the 4th to start celebrating this historical holiday, the City of Lubbock and Broadway Festivals Inc will also be having various events on July 3rd at Makenzie Park in Lubbock, TX.

All events will be totally free to the public, so do not forget to bring your loved ones along with you to celebrate this special holiday. Listed on their website, is the schdule of events.

Lubbock Firework Event Schedule

SONIC Parade

The SONIC Parade will be at 9 a.m., the theme this year will be “United We Stand.” If you want to take part in the parade, people and companies can sign up on the event’s website.

Anderson BMW Daytime Music in the Park

The Anderson BMW Daytime Music in the Park will be from 10:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. They will have two major outdoor stages that will feature West Texas Music. The line up has been posted on their website as well.

Sunbelt Rentals Cool Zone

The Sunbelt Rentals Cool Zone is a first-timer this year and will be available all day long. They are large powerful evaporative coolers that will be spread all throughout the park to keep the public cool.

BUDWEISER Fiesta Stage

The Budweiser stage will be located at the corner of Cesar E. Chavez and Broadway from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This stage is featuring the best local Tejano and Mariachi bands.

FIBERMAX Kid’s Area

The Covenant Children’s Kid’s Area will be from 10:30 a.m. through 6 p.m. They will have free kid’s activities, games, inflatables, and much more.

Caprock Cardiovascular Center West Texas Roots Stage

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The West Texas Roots stage will host acts from local artists John Sprott, Gypsy Jane, Craig Elliot and Eddie Beethoven. The website promises comfortable seating and an air conditioned tent to enjoy the talent.

Covenant Children’s Youth Fishing Tournament hosted by Cabela’s

The third annual Youth Fishing Tournament will take place from 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. There will be no entrance fee, no need for a fishing permit, and prices will be awarded to the winning contestants. Contestants may register on their website.

River Smith’s Catfish & Cobbler Eating Contest

The River Smith’s Catfish & Cobbler Eating Contest is an eating contest hosted by River Smith’s. The contest has no entry fee and will take place at 5 p.m. Prizes will also be awarded to those who eat the most catfish and cobbler within the respective age groups set up by the organizers. Although entry is free, contestants still have to register on the event’s website if they wish to participate.

Evening Firework Celebration

United Supermarkets Evening Concert

The United Supermarkets Evening Concert will begin at 7:15 p.m. The public can enjoy contemporary artists in West Texas, as well as the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Lubbock. The current lineup is posted on the event’s website.

Gorilla Law Firm Fireworks Extravaganza

The Gorilla Law Firm Fireworks Extravaganza will commence at 10 p.m. The fireworks will be choreographed live to music by the Youth Orchestras of Lubbock. This is definitely a colorful show you do not want to miss.
