Due to COVID-19, as all spring sports, the Red Raiders Mens basketball season was cut short. The Red Raiders finished this shortened season with an 18-13 record, going 13-4 for home and 3-7 for away. Also, they concluded their season with a .581 PCT.

2020-2021 Season

Now, the Red Raiders are looking forward to the 2020-2021 season for men’s basketball. Changes have been made in the coaching staff for this upcoming season as an assistant coach under Beard, Brian Burg, has accepted another job offer. Burg who has been with the Red Raiders for four seasons is now moving to a head coach position at Georgia Southern.

There is still speculation on whether key players such as David Moretti and Jahmi’us Ramsey will be entering the draft or staying another season for the Red Raiders. Although multiple sources have reported that Morretti is likely to stay his senior year. On top of the underclassmen from last season, the edition of highly ranked commits in Nimari Burnett and Micah Peavy should add plenty of talent.

There is a lot to look forward for the Red Raiders this upcoming season. With pre-season rankings for the 2020-2021 season being released, Texas Tech is ranked No. 7 by Stadium, No. 9 by NBC Sports, No. 10 by USA Today, No. 12 by ESPN, No. 17 by Jon Rothstein, and No. 18 by CBS Sports.
