Here is a list of some of the top things to do in downtown Lubbock, Texas, in 2021. Stay in Lubbock’s downtown area to visit art galleries, museums, live performances, restaurants, and more. You can find all of these events close to Texas Tech University.

Triple J Chophouse & Brew Co

Firstly, Triple J Chophouse & Brew Co is a steakhouse that serves steaks, seafood, pizza, and desserts. They have lots of positive reviews about their food and the overall experience there. This steakhouse is located at 1807 Buddy Holly Ave, Lubbock, Texas, 79401. Bring your parents or significant others for a special night out on the town.

West Table Kitchen and Bar

Next is the West Table Kitchen. This upscale dining choice is located in the heart of downtown Lubbock on 1204 Broadway St Suite #103 in the Pioneer building. Their menu changes daily, and they do have gluten-free options. They have many positive reviews regarding the food, service, and atmosphere.

Additionally, The West Table Kitchen has live music from time to time. Check out this dining choice if you enjoy live music.

The Brewery LBK

Right down the hall in the Pioneer building is The Brewery. This brewery is located in the Pioneer Building, 1204 Broadway St #104, Lubbock, TX 79401. The 2021 hours are 4-10 p.m. They have a dog-friendly wrap-around patio. They are locally owned and operated and craft their own beers, and partner with the West Table for the meals that they serve.

The Brewery LBK is the number one brewpub according to USA Today!

Italian Garden

Italian Garden is an Italian restaurant also located in the heart of downtown Lubbock. They have an extensive menu with lots to choose from! Some options are fried ravioli, salad, pasta, chicken parmigiana, chicken piccata, lobster ravioli, hot subs, and pizza. This dining choice also has gluten-free pasta available if you are looking for a place with gluten-free options.

Entertainment in Downtown Lubbock

Buddy Holly Center

The Buddy Holly Center is a museum in the city dedicated to Buddy Holly, a rock n roll musician who was born in Lubbock. The center has a gift shop with cool gifts such as guitar lunch boxes, kites, guitar pens, clothing, and Buddy Holly memorabilia.

They are located on 1801 Crickets Ave, Lubbock, Tx, 79401, and are open from 10-5 on weekdays and 1-5 on Sundays.

Buddy Holly Hall

The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences is a new venue to visit downtown. They have their upcoming events on their website. https://www.buddyhollyhall.com/

The hall is located at 1300 Mac Davis Ln, Lubbock, TX 79401.

LHUCA

Nearby is The Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts, or LHUCA. It’s Lubbock’s main art facility that often hosts a First Friday art event on the first Friday of each month. LHUCA also has classrooms and event spaces used for film festivals and other art events.

The art facility is located downtown on 511 Avenue K in Lubbock, TX, 79401. They are open Wednesday-Saturday from 11-5, and the first Friday art trails are from 6 to 9 p.m. Also, The venue hosts live music and food trucks at the first Friday art trails.

Cactus Theater

A great place to go if you like live music is the Cactus Theater. The Cactus Theater hosts live music, musicals, and plays in the downtown region of the city. They are located in the Depot District, on 1812 Buddy Holly Ave, Lubbock, TX, 79401. You can check their website for upcoming events. You can buy tickets on their website, by calling, or picking them up in person at the box office. They open an hour before shows on Saturdays and Sundays. They are closed on major holidays.

Raider’s Axe Gallery & Entertainment

Different from the other things to do in city is axe throwing. The Raider’s Axe Galley & Entertainment is located on 1408 Avenue F, Lubbock, TX 79401. It is $25 per person, which includes training and access to all throwable items. They are open from 2-10 on Wednesday-Sunday and stay open until 12 on Friday and Saturday.

If you need a place to blow off steam in the city, this could be a new experience you may want to try!

Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market

The Lubbock downtown farmers market sells fresh and locally grown produce. It is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is on 1822 Buddy Holly Ave. In 2021 they are open from May to October 16th. They have a list of their vendors on their website to view before going if you want to know what they will have.

In addition to fresh produce, they have fun vendors such as ones that sell macarons, art, dog clothes, and they have a thai food truck.

Cotton Court Hotel

The first hotel on our list is the Cotton Court Hotel. This hotel is located downtown in the city. They offer indoor and outdoor event space, a pool, a new restaurant with live musical performances each weekend, and they are pet-friendly. In addition, the hotel offers a Junior and Presidential Suite for guests, as well as a few different king rooms to choose from.

The hotel’s design is influenced by The Great Plains region and Lubbock’s history in the cotton industry.

Cotton Court Hotel is located at 1610 Broadway St, Lubbock, TX 79401, one mile away from Texas Tech. This hotel may feel like home to the residents of Lubbock.

Pioneer Pocket Hotel

The second hotel on our list is the Pioneer Pocket Hotel. This hotel is located in the Pioneer building at 1204 Broadway St #103, Lubbock, TX 79401. It has a restaurant called The West Table, a café called The Coffee Shop, and a brewery called The Brewery LBK in the same building. The café is temporarily closed.
