TTU Football 2021-2022 Season and What To Expect

With the TTU Football 2021 Season right around the corner, you may see many new faces around the program. Expect the Red Raiders to bounce back after a rough few seasons with the new faces on both the players and coaching end.

Offense

There are also many new key players entering the TTU Football program and this may leave you wondering what should to expect? With players such as Tyler Shough, who transferred from Oregon. Who came out of high school as one of the top recruits in the nation. Shough, now with the keys to the Red Raider offense, expect the team to lead a balanced charge with one of the best receivers and running back cores in the country. Behind Shough in the depth charts are a plethora of outstanding quarterbacks as well. One is Henry Columbi, who helped lead the Red Raiders in 2020, and the second is freshman quarterback Behren Morton. On the quarterback side, the team will have no shortage of talent.

Moving on to the wide receiving core, one of the standout players is junior Eric Ezukanma. After an impressive 2020 season, look for Ezukanma to have another phenomenal season as he looks to make the jump from college to pros. Another receiver returning for the Red Raiders is Mclane Mannix, who will look to take advantage of one of his last years of eligibility.

Others looking to make a name for themselves in the 2021 season are Jerand Bradley and Myles Price. A long list of receivers who can make big-time plays combined with a talented QB roster already has fans excited for the season.

Offense Continued

On top of those positions, the TTU Football Team has a lot to expect from a a talented running back room. With Sarockrick Thompson returning, everyone will look to him to have a big season as the team improves.

Other names such as Ronnie Hart, Cam’Ron Valdez, Tahj Brooks, Kyron Cumby, Xavier White, and Chadarius Townsend round out the impressive running back room. Arguably viewing the Red Raiders as having one of the best running back rooms in the country.

The TTU Football offensive line leads the way for the offensive, which has shown substantial improvement from last season. While having many transfers and returning players, the team is set to have an impressive season. Transfers like Josh Burger, T.J. Storment, Matt Keeler, and others have plenty of experience.

So look for the Texas Tech Football team’s offense to have a balanced attack from both the ground and the air. As they compete against some of the best defenses in the country.

Defense

There was much room for improvement on the defensive side of the ball in the 2020 season, which is exactly what Head Coach Matt Wells and his staff have done.

With big names such as Riko Jeffers, Adrian Frye, Marquis Waters, Coolin Schooler, and Tony Bradford Jr, the Red Raiders have an excellent core to keep opponents out of the end zone. Be on the lookout for the Red Raiders to have a solid defense for the first time in years. At the same time, being able to compete against some of the best offenses in the nation.

Special Teams

As for special teams on the TTU Football roster, there is not much to be said as for what you to expect. Look for the specials teams unit to continue a solid performance from the year prior.

Big names such as junior Austin Mcnamara and Trey Wolff returning. With several new additions at long snapper and backup kickers the special team’s unit for Texas Tech Football is set to have a successful season.

Overall

Overall, the TTU Football Team should show massive improvement heading into the 2021 season and stated is what to expect from this years team. With many returning players improving from last season and several vital transfers. The team should be solid in all three phases of the game.

With that, look for the Red Raiders in 2021 to have a breakout season led by Head Coach Matt Wells.
