Texas Tech Soccer Defeated Kansas on Senior Night
At home, the Texas Tech soccer team defeated Kansas at the John Walker Soccer Complex, giving them an 11-4-2 record and 4-3-1 in the conference. The game occurred on Senior Night, Friday, October 22.
TTU vs. KU
First Half
The Red Raiders controlled the momentum of the first half by obtaining the majority of the possessions. The team outshot the Jayhawks 7-2.
In the 44th minute, right before halftime, Sophomore Gisselle Kozarski scored off an assist from Senior Kirsten Davis.
Second Half
The Texas Tech soccer team continued their momentum into the second half. They opened up with a goal from Davis off an assist from Graduate Student Jodie Harr. Davis is tied for second in the nation with 14 goals.
On the other hand, Kansas jumped on the board in the 80th minute to try to climb their way back.
In addition, Junior Madison White, the goalkeeper, secured a save against KU. Similarly, the TTU defense blocked three shots to hold onto the 2-1 victory.
TTU Finishing Up the SeasonÂ
The Texas Tech soccer team remains undefeated at home, going 9-0-1. The Red Raiders play their final game against TCU Thursday, October 28, at home.
The team is going to have a challenging game against the Horned Frogs. TCU is currently ranked No.1 in the conference with a 6-1-1 record.
Furthermore, the Horned Frogs have a six-game winning streak, whereas the Red Raiders only have a one-game streak.
Heading Into Post-Season
Next, the team will then head to the Big 12 Championship in Round Rock, Texas, starting Sunday, October 31.
