Football is Back in Raiderland – Our top reasons why you should attend games

There’s no doubt Texas Tech fans love Red Raider football. It’s a sign of the approaching fall season and nothing is better than seeing Red and Black everywhere around Lubbock.

With a new season of Texas Tech football upon us here in Raiderland, here are our top reasons why you should support this team. Showing up early, being loud, and staying until the end are key things any good fan base should do for their team.

Tradition

The Red Raider game day tradition will always be alive and well. Despite ups and downs, which are prevalent in several football programs across the country, there is an amazing tradition in West Texas of showing up to support our guys on the field. If you feel otherwise, at least show up out of respect to the student-athletes who are giving their effort on and off the field.

Fun

Football season is fun! Of course, we want our guys to get the victory but nothing is more fun than tailgating around The Jones with your fellow Red Raiders. This is why we all post, “SUNS UP GUNS UP” on social media. Waking up on game day and making your way to various tailgates is definitely fun.

Passion

Red Raider Nation is probably one of the most passionate fan bases in the country. When you see that GUNS UP hand gesture in an airport because you’re wearing a Texas Tech t-shirt or ball cap, you get a sense of pride and passion. Use this same passion to purchase tickets, show up to the football stadium, be loud, stay classy, and express your passions for our team.

Texas Tech has the best fans in the country. Lubbock is one of the toughest places to play college ball. This has been echoed from many coaches across the Big 12 Conference. It’s our job as Red Raider Nation to keep it this way. I encourage all fans reading this to show up to all home games and show our competitors the tradition, fun, and passion of Red Raider Nation.
